Welcome

Sandsjöbacka Trail was born after many lonely winter trail runs through the Sandsjöbacka and Änggårdsbergen nature reserves south of Gothenburg on the Swedish west coast. The sense of wilderness that resides so close to the city. The intense feeling of running somewhere, through dawn and the low daylight of the winter. This is the feeling and the challenge we want to convey to you. We happily welcome you to Sandsjöbacka Trail and our different distances.

Rules

Sandsjöbacka Trail is not primarily a competition – the purpose of the race is to allow more people to experience the natural way of travel it means to be running in nature in general and on the winter trails of Sandsjöbacka in particular. But for many runners there is also happiness in running fast – and even though the purpose of the race is non-competetive, there is joy to be found in measuring ones performance in terms of speed, time and position; hence we also have timing and results.
