To give as many as possible the opportunity to experience the winter magic of Sandsjöbacka in a taste of their own we have created five different challenges ranging from 22 km to 82 km. All of them passes through the beautiful Sandsjöbacka nature reserve and have the same lovely finish through Änggårdsbergen och Slottsskogen.
The trails are varying from narrow, winding and technical to wide, flat and fast. The scenery is a mixture of woodlands, moors and a bit of parks in the end. The both loved and hated passage through Mölndalsravinen is our gift to you – if there is snow it is actually quite nice running, if there is neither frost nor snow, there will be some gruesomely muddy passages in there.
Since 2015 the finish area is at Slottsskogsvallen, designed by Lars Israel Wahlman, who also designed the castle of Tjolöholm at the start of the 50 mile race. In the finish area we have a café open to participants as well as other visitors, and it will also possible to follow the progress of the participants by GPS tracking on a projector screen.

Sandsjöbacka Autumn Trail
In September 2015 the first official Sandsjöbacka Trail Autumn was held. The autumn race goes in the other direction, with the start at Götaplatsen before dawn and the finish in Kungsbacka. The course follows the hiking trail Sandsjöbackaleden and ends with a few kilometers of really tough off-trail running in the rugged southeast Sandsjöbacka. There is also a shorter variety with a different starting point and the same off-trail ending as the main autumn race.
